Professor Sterio Presents on the Crime of Aggression at Odessa Academy

Professor Milena Sterio delivered a lecture for participants of the Odessa Academy, a law school based in Ukraine, on the topic of “The Crime of Aggression under International Law” on May 4. 

Professor Milena Sterio participated as a panelist in an event organized by the Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) in partnership with the Mandel Opera & Humanities Festival: Reconciliation, also in partnership with The Cleveland Orchestra on May 16. The festival “examines how reconciliation shapes relationships, societies, and cultures—highlighting its challenges, triumphs, and enduring relevance in a fractured world.”  More information about the event is available here.

Professor Robertson Presents on Preemption and Local Land Use at ABA Conference

Professor Heidi Gorovitz Robertson traveled to Las Vegas for the American Bar Association’s Real Property/Trusts and Estates National CLE Conference. Robertson spoke on and moderated a program “The Sometimes Irrational State Preemption of Local Land Use Decision-making: From Housing Density to Renewable Energy Development.” Other panelists include Matthew Eisenson, Senior Fellow at the Sabin Center for Climate for Climate Change Law at Columbia Law School, and Nixon Peabody lawyers Karla Chafee and Bryan LeRoy. Robertson served on the program committee for the Land Use and Environment Committee of the RP/TE section and continues to serve as an Associate Editor of the section’s Probate and Property Magazine.
Robertson is the Steven W. Percy Professor of Law at the College of Law and Professor of Environmental Studies at the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education, Cleveland State University.

Associate Dean Ray Discusses Draft White Paper on Colorado AI Act

Associate Dean Brian Ray participated in a panel at the Sedona Conference Working Group 11 meeting discussing a draft White Paper on reconciling the Colorado AI Act and the Colorado Privacy Act in the context of AI tools used in the employment context. Associate Dean Ray is a member of the White Paper drafting group.
