The CSU Global Space Law Center congratulates Amelia Hu and Emily Tolsch upon their joining the Center’s student-staffed Research Council. This semester Research Council will be working on various space law initiatives regarding national security, licensing reforms for novel space activities, and information-sharing among lunar operators. 

In other news from the GSLC, Professor Mark Sundahl, along with former Research Council members, Abby Jones ’22 and Caylan Fazio ’24, have completed an article on The Genesis and Drafting of the Artemis Accords. This article records an oral history of the creation of the most influential international space law instrument in recent years: NASA’s Artemis Accords. The piece will appear in the Dutch peer-reviewed journal AIR & SPACE LAW.

The Center’s Director, Professor Sundahl, will soon be delivering remarks this fall at the following venues — remarks that have been shaped by the work of the GSLC Research Council. Special thanks to Mr. Akshaj Deshpande of Pune, India who served as a 2026 GSLC Summer Intern.

How Sharing Information Solves (Nearly) Everything

This last presentation in Antalya will be the latest effort by the Center to highlight the need to more openly share operational information in space. This is particularly important to deconflict upcoming lunar missions that will involve multiple operators (both governmental and private) often working simultaneously in close quarters as the search for water commences at the South Pole of the Moon. The Center’s previous work on this critical issue of information-sharing helped to inspire the current United Nations initiative to debut new norms in the sharing of information among states.
