Professor Milena Sterio presented at the 2020 AALS, at a discussion group on the topic of “Women as Judges at International and National Tribunals” on January 2.  Professor Sterio had organized the discussion group and successfully proposed it to the AALS program committee, which selected it from a competitive call for proposals.  In addition, Professor Sterio moderated two sessions: “New Voices in International Law and International Human Rights” on January 3, and “New Voices in National Security Law” on January 5.  Professor Sterio was also elected as Chair-Elect of the National Security Law section, and continues to serve on the executive committees of the International Law and the International Human Rights Law sections.
