Professor Heidi Gorovitz Robertson spoke on Friday, November 8 at the 19th Annual Great Lakes Water Conference. The conference is presented annually by the Legal Institute of the Great Lakes at the University of Toledo College of Law.
Robertson’s presentation, WOTUS under the new (old?) Trump Rule: Where are we now?, addressed the US EPA and US Army Corps of Engineers continuing efforts to define “waters of the United States” under the Clean Water Act. The definition has been under constant review and revision for close to 40 years, the most recent action having occurring just weeks ago, on October 22, 2019, when the US EPA and US Army Corps of Engineers repealed the 2015 Clean Water Rule in favor of rolling back the definition to a 1986 version.
Additionally, Robertson served as the Moderator of the conference’s More Hot Topics panel.
Robertson is C|M Law’s Steven W. Percy Distinguished Professor of Law and a Professor of Environmental Studies at the Levin College of Urban Affairs.
