  1. Professor Weinstein has a lot of good advice – for people writing on a clean slate. Not many of us are able to do that. And one important factor not mentioned is nearness to family (assuming that it is an important factor to most people – some may want to live as far away from family as possible, but not most, I think). And a lot depends on where in a state you are considering: urban, rural, suburb? Do you like the heat and humidity of Florida or do you want to live in a cold climate? Do you like living near the sea, the mountains, lakes, desert? And I am sure there are other personal decisions that go into the mix.
